This USB 3.0 eMMC reader/writer is very handy to have especially if you have to write images on eMMC on a regular basis. It reduces software image writing time and much faster compared to microSD eMMC adapter board.

This device is compatible with Windows, Linux or Mac OS. Therefore you can use you favorite image flasher program (e.g. Etcher, Win32DiskImager) with it.

Mounting the eMMC module

The USB eMMC writer comes with two connectors for eMMC module. A standard Odroid eMMC module only uses the longer one. Typically, Odroid eMMC module comes with a little sticker pad to stabilize it when mounted on an Odroid board. However, this sticker pad sits on top of the second connector on the eMMC USB writer board. It is NOT NECESSARY to remove the sticker pad. Just align the connectors and push them firmly (not excessively). The eMMC module can still be detected as long as it attached firmly to the connector.
