This foot switch is easily programmable using the included Windows software. You can program it to perform mouse or keyboard function for example to perform left/right mouse click, to press a certain keyboard key, to type a string or to position the mouse cursor to a certain coordinate.
Once programmed, it will retain the configuration and it works as a USB HID device. You can plug it to other Windows, Mac or Linux computer (yes, this includes Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone Black, Android phone etc.) and it will just work as programmed. No driver or software is needed.
The included configuration software works in Windows only. For Linux, there is a command line open source configuration software that you can use.
