Under typical use cases, the Pi 5 can work with a regular 5V 3A power adapter but if you are connecting demanding accessories to it, a beefy power supply is required. If the connected USB-C power supply is not able to provide 5V 5A, you will see a warning message when you logged in. This USB-C power supply is designed for Raspberry Pi 5 which can offer 5.1V 5A via Power Delivery (PD) standard if required by the connected devices on the board.
The DC output is bumped up to 5.1V, 5A to provide enough power for your Raspberry Pi. Other than powering the Pi 5, this adapter is able to provide 9V/3A, 12V/2.25A and 15V/1.8A to any other PD-compatible devices . Overall, this is a high quality product with 18AWG thick cable to ensure good power delivery.
The power supply has a fixed 3-pin Type G plug which is a standard plug in Malaysia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong etc. It accepts 100-240V AC voltage input.
This is a compatible power adapter and not the official Raspberry Pi branded power adapter.
