The BeagleBone AI is a Single Board Computer designed for makers and developers who wish to explore embedded Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Computer Vision. It is powered by Texas Instrument AM5729 SoC that offers AI capabilities via dual TI C66x Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and 4x Embedded Vision Engines (EVE). The board has 1GB RAM and 16GB eMMC high-speed flash storage. The board also provides a single USB Type A port, USB Type C port for power and superspeed dual-role controller. For connectivity, it has a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port, 2.4/5 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth wireless communication.
Like many other BeagleBone boards, the BeagleBone AI conforms to open-source hardware design. The board layout is very similar to BeagleBone Black and maintains the header capability. This board runs hot. A heatsink is included for heat management. It is recommended that an active cooling (fan) is implemented to further bring down the temperature.
Debian Linux OS comes preloaded to the on-board storage to give you zero-download out-of-box software experience.
