This is not your regular USB cable. It has a boost converter circuit at the connector to convert the standard 5V from USB port to 12V DC at its barrel plug output. This is especially useful to power your 12v circuit or devices (router, camera etc.) from a USB power source like a power bank or wall adapter.

Take note that the output of this cable is 12V DC with 500mA output current.

Do not connect this cable to device that does not support 12V!
