A USB hub can expand your development board's capability. This is a versatile USB+Ethernet combo hub that provides two USB 2.0 ports and one Ethernet port. The hub uses AX88772B chip for its Ethernet capability provided via a regular RJ45 jack. This jack supports 10/100 Mbps speed.
For connection to host (upstream), the hub provides two-connector option - regular Type A USB or micro B USB OTG connector. You can use the USB connector with a PC, laptop or SBCs (Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone Black etc.). Alternatively, you can use the micro USB OTG connector for device that supports USB OTG such as Android mobile phones/tablets and boards such as Raspberry Pi Zero and Odroid C1+.
The hub is USB-powered but can be externally powered as well. For those low power device such as mouse and keyboard, you do not need to use additional power supply. If you plan to connect devices that consume more power (hard drives, wifi dongle etc.), the hub can be externally powered via a micro USB port (5V only).
SBCs like Raspberry Pi A+ and Beaglebone Black has only one USB port so you can't connect both mouse and keyboard at the same time. The Raspberry Pi Zero does not have the regular USB and Ethernet port. This USB+Ethernet combo hub is a great addition to these boards.
