This is a SATA-USB3.0 converter board which can be used to connect a SATA storage drive (HDD or SSD) to a USB port of an Odroid board to increase the overall storage capacity of the system. On the board, there is a JMS578 USB3.0 to SATA controller chip. It is supported by all Odroid's official OS image. It can also work with any OS as long as there is a driver for it.
This simple converter has 2 connectors on-board. One is the SATA connector to be connected to the storage device. This connector provides data transfer and enough power for a single 2.5" HDD or SSD. Take note that 3.5" HDD is not supported. On the other edge, there is a micro USB 3.0 connector. There is a single red LED on-board to indicate power (solid on) and data transfer (flashing).
This board is great for Odroid boards with USB3.0 ports such as Odroid-N2, Odroid-C4 and Odroid-XU4. With USB3.0 interface, a data transfer of around 260 MB/s can be achieved. Nevertheless, it is also backward compatible with USB2.0 ports, working at a reduced speed.
Additional accessory required: You need a micro USB 3.0 to USB A cable to use this board. This cable is sold separately. If you do not have one, consider to buy it here.
