A capacitive touch sensor detects a touch from human body with little or almost no force required. It can be used as an input device, replacing the needs for a mechanical switch.
Based on low power TTP223B touch detector chip, this module detects capacitive load (such as your finger) when applied to the touch pad on board. It is a digital output module, meaning there are only 2 valid states. The module gives output HIGH when you put your finger on the touch pad and output LOW when you remove it. In a way, this module behaves similarly like a momentary switch. Therefore, it can replace the conventional mechanical switch.
This board can work standalone. It doesn't require a microcontroller to work. You can connect it directly to devices such as a relay or a buzzer for a touch control. There are 4 mounting holes for easy installation. It can be attached on all non-metalic surface. The touch area can be covered by a thin cloth or paper and the sensor still can work.
The board comes fully assembled with 3-pin right angle header.
