This is a compact MP3 player/decoder board which can play MP3 audio file from a removable media without having to connect to a micro controller. It also has Bluetooth receiver functionality where music can be streamed from another media player to this module via Bluetooth. Great for hacking, this module can be embedded to your project.
User control is performed using 5 push-buttons on board. Depending on the button, a different function is triggered by short pressing or long pressing it. A long press is defined by holding the button for at least 2 seconds.
The board supports two type of removable media - micro SD card or USB drive. Upon powering it up, the board will try to play from the USB drive by default. If no USB drive present, it will play from the micro SD card. If both type of removable media is not present, it will turn on the Bluetooth connection and wait for pairing with other Bluetooth device. You can switch media type by pressing the "Mode" button. This module recognize MP3, WMA, WAV and FLAC file format. The media has to be formatted as FAT32.
To get the sound output, you can plug a headphone or an external speaker to the 3.5mm audio jack.
The board can be powered using standard micro usb cable from a portable battery or USB wall plug.
