Some devices do away with the bulky SMA connector in favour of the miniature IPX connector (also known as IPEX, u.FL, AMC or MHF). If you have a device with IPX connector, how do you get the signal properly transmitted with an SMA antenna? You'll need an SMA to IPX adapter cable.
This cable adapts the two so that you can use an antenna with SMA connector to boost the RF signal.
The length of the cable is 15cm. The female SMA connector has thread on the outside and center receptacle which you can screw in to the metching antenna. A spacer and a nut is included for panel mounting. For the IPX connector, delicately snap on the female IPX connector to the male IPX connector on the PCB.
You can use this cable with many RF devices that have IPX connector. Most GPS use SMA antennas but most Wifi devices uses RP-SMA. Although they look almost the same, they are not compatible. Pay close to the gender and connector type. Look closely to the image in the gallery to avoid buying the wrong connector.
We also stock the RP-SMA version of this adapter.
