If you are working on RF connectivity, you will find that SMA and RP-SMA are among the two different connectors found on equipments, development boards or antennas. Although they look similar, they are not compatible.

This is a convenient adapter that converts male RP-SMA (inner thread, center receptacle) to female SMA (outer thread, center receptacle).

Most likely you will use this on a development board with RP-SMA connector to connect to an antenna with SMA connector.
