Sometimes there is only a single pair of power pin header on a board and it is not enough. This board extends a single pair of power pins to four pairs through a serial connection. It is a simple-to-use device, just plug the positive and negative header correctly and you are good to go.
Be mindful of the power source limitation. The total power consumption of all connections must not exceed what the source pin can supply or it might cause irreparable damage.
