Product Details

Pioneer600 is a multi-purpose add-on board specifically designed for Raspberry Pi (Pi 3, 2 and Model B+). This board integrates various components with different functions. It also has various interfaces that allows you to connect other external accessory boards easily. It is a perfect board for education, experimenting, testing and learning the functionality of your Pi.

This board is of the same size as a HAT board, with a 40-pin header and plugs right on top of the Pi. It uses a 0.96 inch OLED as its main display. Additionally, there are 2 user programmable LEDs which can be used as a visual indicator. For sound output, there is a buzzer. There is a 5-way joystick which you can use for user input. Additionally, there is an infrared receiver for remote control purposes.

To keep the time accurate even when the board is powered off, there is a Real Time Clock (RTC) on-board running on DS3231 chip with a backup battery. You need to slot in a CR1220 coin battery to the holder at the back of the board. Battery is not included but you can find it easily at your nearby hardware/electronic store.

The board also has CP2102 Serial (UART) to USB converter with a micro USB connector. Using the included micro USB cable, you can establish a serial connection between a PC to the Pi via a debug console. It's the easiest way to connect to your Pi without additional keyboard or display.

Other features includes analog-digital/digital-analog converter, 1-wire interface and additional sensor interfaces.

All in all, this is a useful board with many possibilities.
