PCD8544 is popularly known for its usage in Nokia 3310/5110 mobile phones back in the day. It is still a popular display for DIY electronic hobbyists today. The screen is a monochrome 48 x 84 pixels matrix LCD with white backlight. You can use it to display text or graphics.
This PCD8544 add-on board is specifically made for the Raspberry Pi. It plugs directly on the top the first 26 GPIO pins and you don't have to worry about wiring the display. The screen very readable, easy to use and is a great choice if you want a small and simple display on top of your Raspberry Pi.
The board has 26-pin header. If you use Raspberry Pi 2B or B+, be sure to plug it to the first 26 pin on the Pi.
