LM1117 is a popular low-dropout linear voltage regulator with internal current limiting, thermal shut-down and safe area protection features. It gives out a steady 3.3V output.
This regulator can be used for powering your electronic devices that require a stable 3.3V voltage.
For a good 3.3V regulated output, an input voltage of at least 4.5V is needed. The max current output is 800mA. It would be recommended that you attach additional heatsink if your load is close to max current output. Also, you would need to add a couple of capacitors in your voltage regulator circuit.
