L7805 is a popular linear voltage regulator with internal current limiting, thermal shut-down and safe area protection features. It gives out a fixed 5V output.
This regulator can be used for powering your electronic devices that require a stable 5V voltage.
For a good 5V regulated output, an input voltage of at least 7V is recommended. The max current output is 1.5A. It would be recommended that you attach additional heatsink if your load is close to max current output. Also, you would need to add a couple of capacitors in your voltage regulator circuit.
