This high power 10W LED outputs ultra bright warm white lighting. It is best driven with a constant current of 900 mA compared to tens of mA for regular LEDs. This is a Chips-on-Board (COB) type LED package where multi LED chips are packaged together in one lighting module. In this particular module, the LEDs are arranged in 3x3 matrix.
All high power LEDs generate a fair amount of heat. If you are going to run them at full power for a considerable amount of time, you will need to attach the LED to a heat sink. This LED is mounted on a metal base so that heatsink can be mounted easily. There are two mounting holes for more permenant attachment to the heatsink. At the sides, there are two connection terminals and the + and - connections are etched on the base for easy identification.
Confused between cool white and warm white? Cool white LED is brighter of the two. It appears more bluish. On the other hand, warm white looks closer to yellow, similar to incandescent light.
