If you already own a DVI monitor and want to quickly integrate to the newer HDMI equipment, you can do it easily with this DVI-HDMI adapter
If you want to connect your Raspberry Pi HDMI display output to a DVI monitor, this adapter works perfectly.
Note: Unlike HDMI, DVI connection doesn't carry audio signal. This adapter is for video signal only.
There are two types of connectors for you to choose depending on how your setup looks like, whether you want to use a DVI or a HDMI cable.
This is how the connection looks like:
DVI (Female) to HDMI (Male) connector:
DVI monitor <-> DVI cable <-> [This adapter] <-> Raspberry Pi
DVI (Male) to HDMI (Female) connector:
DVI monitor <-> [This adapter] <-> HDMI cable (male-to-male) <-> Raspberry Pi
