Composite Audio and Video Cable for Raspberry Pi - 3.5mm to 3x RCA
Store/Components
Product Details
Connector: 3.5mm to 3x RCA Male

The newer Raspberry Pi boards (Raspberry Pi 3, Pi 2, Model A+, and Model B+) has a 3.5mm jack which can output both composite video and audio signal. This means you can utilise an older TV that can accept only composite input and not HDMI capable.

This cable turns signal from the 3.5mm jack to three RCA male connectors for video, left stereo audio and right stereo audio. Some similar cables in the market are not suitable for the Raspberry Pi because of the different connector layout. This cable includes a small 3.5mm adapter to ensure that the cable works properly.

Features:

  • Tested to work with Raspberry Pi 3, Pi 2, Pi B+ and A+
  • approximately 70 cm to 120 cm long (may vary)

Tips:

  • If you are installing an OS via NOOBS, the default video output is HDMI. Hit 3 at boot for PAL or 4 for NTSC to force composite output
  • If you have already installed an OS via NOOBS with a HDMI cable, hit Shift+3 at boot for PAL, or Shift+4 at boot for NTSC to change to composite output
  • If the above doesn't work, or you do not use NOOBS installation, you need to edit /boot/config.txt file manually. Look for #sdtv_mode=0 and uncomment that line.

Connector Layout:

  • Red - Video
  • White - Right Audio
  • Yellow - Left Audio

Take note that the older Raspberry Pi Model A and B has an RCA connector for composite output hence you can use the regular RCA cable.
