A budget case on steroids - This case is based on the economical Budget Case for Raspberry Pi with a mini fan mounted on the top panel for cooling.
This case is compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3 B, 2 B and Model B+.
The case is made of 6 clear acrylic panels which provides an adequate protection for your Pi and access to all the ports.
The top panel has cut-outs to give you access to GPIO pins, CSI and DSI connectors. You may also lift it up for quick access to the pins and connectors or even to attach expansion boards.
Additionally, the top panel has holes for mounting a mini cooling fan.
The case ships unassembled but if you buy a Pi and want us to assemble them together, just leave a note in your order comment and we will do it for you.
No tool is required to assemble this case. Just snap the pieces together. Take care while doing that and do not use excessive force, or else, you will break the clips.
The mini cooling fan
This fan is mounted with 4 screws and nuts on the top panel. The position is direct above the BCM2836 chip which is one of the most significant heat source from the Pi. With the fan mounted, there is still some space to attach the silver heatsink on the chip for better cooling but not the black heatsink which is 1mm taller.
The fan measures just 25 x 25 x 10 mm. It requires 5V DC and you can power it up with the Pi's power header. There is a connector with two wires, red and black attached to the fan. The red wire is for 5V DC and you need to connect it to the pin number 4 and the black wire is for ground, to be connected to the pin number 6. For a clearer picture, please refer to the gallery.
The operating voltage for the fan is in between 3V to 5.8V with 0.06A current. The air volume for the fan is 5 m3/h at 13200 RPM. The fan's noise level is at around 18dB.
