This is a 40-pin strip of standard 2.54mm pitch single row, male header. It is useful when interfacing or making connection by soldering them on PCB. It fits into breadboard as well.

You only need a few pins and not 40? No problem. They can be broken apart easily with a cutter or even with your fingers.
