Build a DIY robot or a smart car using your favourite development board (Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone Black, Arduino etc.). Instead of building it from scratch, get this car chassis kit to get started.
The biggest part in this kit is a transparent acrylic plate. The plate has numerous cutouts and mounting points that you can use to mount motors, wheels, PCB, sensors or whatever components which are part of your setup.
On the front, a caster wheel, which turns and rotates freely is mounted with the included screws and standoffs. Near the back on both sides, you can mount 2 DC motors which make up the powertrain of the car. Two rubber wheels are to be attached to the outer side of the motors. Two tachometer meter discs are to be attached on the inner side. With appropriate sensors, you can use the discs to calculate rotational speed of the motor which values you can manipulate for speed and direction control of the car.
We also throw in a 4x AA battery holder which you can use as a power source.
The kit ships unassembled.
